City Council Brown Bag on Waterfront & Downtown Transportation Connections
The Cascadia Center of Discovery Institute will present a series of transportation design and investment proposals, as well as related concept illustrations for Seattle's waterfront and downtown districts. Commissioned artist J. Craig Thorpe and Cascadia representative Bruce Agnew will unveil four interrelated renderings highlighting intermodal transportation connections between auto and passenger ferries, a tunneled SR 99, waterfront streetcar, pedestrian corridors and enhanced marine habitat areas, Monorail, Amtrak, Sounder and Link Light Rail. The drawings will depict connectors at Seneca, University and Broad Street corridors and gateways.
After the presentation, a respondent panel with Kathy Fletcher, People for Puget Sound and Philip Wohlstetter, Allied Arts have been invited to react to the concepts before open public discussion.
The event is hosted by City Councilmember Richard Conlin.
The brown bag will be on Thursday, May 27 at noon in the Seattle City Council Chambers, 600 Fourth Ave., 2nd Floor. For more information call 206-292-0401 x113
