Breaking Gridlock with Technology

Personal Rapid Transit (PRT)

Please join us for a wine and cheese reception at the Cascadia Center of the Discovery Institute featuring a presentation on Personal Rapid Transit (PRT).

The presentation is the first of a series of forums to review new technologies and traffic congestion. The forums are designed to take a more comprehensive view of subjects addressed at Cascadia's annual technology and transportation conference at Microsoft Corporation. For more information on the recent conference click here.

Our featured speakers are David Maymudes and David Paeth from SoundPRT, a technology advocacy association at www.gettherefast.org.

PRT is a small-vehicle monorail technology that may soon make privately financed and operated mass transportation feasible. It is ideal for neighborhood and activity center circulation and has been proposed for airports, urban villages and corporate campuses.

The forum will be held on Thursday, May 12, from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. at
Discovery Institute, located in the Melbourne Tower Suite 800 at the corner
of Third and Pike in downtown Seattle. Location is well served by Metro,
and public parking is accessible from the corner of Second Avenue and Pike
Street. Cost for the event is $10 and includes a selection of regional wines and cheese.

To register, please contact Rachel Krauskopf by email or by calling (206) 292-0401 ext. 153
